Are You on top of the Virtual Trend?
Class 1: This Virtualisation Master class will cover the basics of the technology, explain how it can be used and the benefits, explain the pitfalls and destroy some myths. Attendees will leave the session feeling far more assured of their capability to take their companies into the new Virtualised world, and will be able to spot ‘virtualisation urban legends’ for what they are as the world continues to go crazy for this new technology. The session will also cover common questions on cloud computing and SAAS, what part virtualisation plays in these, and why these technologies are important.
What is virtualisation?
Virtualisation, put simply, is the use of intermediary layer between the “bare metal” hardware of a computer/server and the actual operating system instances (as well as the applications that run on operating systems). Virtualisation enables many “virtual servers” to run on one “physical server”; making more efficient use of limited CPU and RAM resources whilst delivering many additional benefits to users and administrators
