BHP Billiton is Australia’s largest company, and the world's largest diversified resources company. Reactive Media were selected to redesign the BHP Billiton Web site, modernising the design and increasing user-friendliness.
Outline Work
The BHP Billiton Web site had grown over the course of many years, and required a redesign to present content in a more informative way, increase user-friendliness and improve repeat visitation by the public. By presenting more content on the Homepage, the goal was create an effective design that also made the site easier to use.
Reactive received a detailed brief from the client, and undertook a number of stakeholder meetings to determine the requirements of the redesign, and competitor analysis and research into comparative site designs. This formed the basis of a Creative Brief, which became the blueprint for the design of the new BHP site.
Reactive created screen-designs for key pages, and provided Photoshop templates to BHP’s internal development team for integration with the site.
Unique Features
Visitors to the site cover a wide spectrum, but skewed towards a more conservative business orientated audience. The new design needed to meet the challenge of presenting BHP as modern, welcoming and forward-thinking while appealing to this and a wide audience.
