The BIMAs Shortlist and Presentation Dinner

The British Interactive Media Association’s (BIMA) annual award ceremony, the BIMA awards, will celebrate its 23rd anniversary on 29th November 2007 at the Midnight Garden in London. The awards ceremony, in association with Digital Arts Magazine, celebrates digital creative excellence and best practice within the British interactive industry http://www.bima.co.uk/bima-award/0509131704/bima-awards-2007/.
This year the BIMAs promise to be bigger, better and more glamorous than ever before with a line-up of must-see presenters, including the famed Russell Davies who will be awarding the BIMA Grand Prix 2007. Rory Sutherland, Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy One Worldwide, will also be attending the event and will be sharing his views and insights for the year ahead.
The BIMA Awards 2007 will see an update of the different award categories and judging criteria, reflecting the constantly evolving interactive industry.
The new award for Best use of Social Software recognises innovative and effective use of social software in view of the rapid increase and importance of social networking. The Interactive Craft Award, another new award for this year aims to recognise excellence in any aspect of creative interactive craft; such as typography, graphics, sound, copywriting, animation and coding.

According to Matt Bagwell, Chair of the BIMA Awards 2007, “We have undergone continuous development and change since the BIMA Awards were first introduced in 1984, and we want to continuously stand-out as a key creative showcase for the best of the British interactive industry”.
As every year, the panel of judges, made up of senior practitioners in the interactive industry, assess entries on how well companies have enhanced the digital experience, as well as cutting-edge ideas and campaigns (www.bima.co.uk/bima-award/0509131704/bima-awards-2007/awards-judges/).
This year’s cream of the creative industry will be collecting their awards at the Midnight Garden, situated in the heart in the City of London. This impeccable location has been frequently used for film; such as the most recent blockbuster The Da Vinci Code, and television productions such as BBC’s Vanity Fair, David Copperfield and ITV’s Oliver Twist.
