Article Date: 21st May 2007

At the BIMA Annual General Meeting, held at the Design Council on 17th May, Paul Walsh and Margaret Manning both received the full endorsement of the members to continue with their work for a second year in office as Chair and Vice-Chair respectively.

There was also an impressive list of nominees for the seven vacancies on the Executive Committee.

Retiring members of the elected Executive, Matt Bagwell, Creative Director, Conchango; Margaret Manning, Chief Executive Officer, Reading Room; and Paul Walsh, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Segala were all re-appointed as Directors.

New Directors are:

  • Charles Billot, Marketing Director, Soup
  • Steve Clayton, CTO, Microsoft UK Partner Group
  • Michael Collins, Director, i-Publishing Consultants Ltd
  • Matt Gorskowski, Managing Director, Play.

Robin Howard, Client Engagement Director, British Telecom has been asked to serve as an Executive Adviser.

Paul Walsh thanked the meeting for its support and for the help and encouragement from his colleagues on the BIMA Executive, all of whom gave their time voluntarily. He went on to say that he had spent a great deal of the last twelve months out and about, meeting both members and non-members to ascertain their perceptions of BIMA and gathering opinions on how BIMA can improve its image and services. He had accumulated a great deal of information and intended to use this as a basis for future enhancements for BIMA.

The new BIMA website, now live with a stunning new design, incorporates a special section for members where they can now showcase their latest projects, keep an updated company profile and publish white papers and press releases. This was one the improvements based on Paul’s consultations with the industry, and there were more to come.
