UX Design Lead – Global eCommerce retail brand - £65,000 – London – Omni-channel projects

UX Design Lead – Global eCommerce retail brand - £65,000 – London – Omni-channel projects

One of the largest, and most respected, British retail brands are currently going through quite a large digital transformation project, and are spending millions and millions of pounds on reshaping their business around core digital channels. They are looking for a Lead User Experience Architect to join the UK team working across a large stream of omni-channel projects. They are one of the later retailers to do this, but this allows them to shape their strategy in response to their competition. The goal is to have the best online shopping experience (naturally), and they have hired the right people in C level positions to help them achieve this. The strategy and vision is in place, the definition phase is next, and they need to build out the teams of user experience practitioners to help design and deliver this experience. Some more information on these roles is below.

They have also built a bespoke process from the ground, with UX and the users right in the middle, and everything envisioned and designed from solid insights and research. They have a UK and international team that work collaboratively across omni-channel projects including breath taking gesture based in store experiences pushing the boundaries of innovation. They have a great process, working to agile; lots of research, scamping and prototyping, user testing and iteration, detailed design and interaction modelling, complex search functionality, ecommerce (obviously). Touch points will still include web, app, and kiosk, and you will be producing flows and journeys, screen concepts and wireframes.

The UX team has grown astronomically in the past 18months which currently stands at 24. This is made up of a mixture of perm and freelance user experience professionals are all at the top of their game producing ground breaking work on all platforms. At the moment they are going through a large ecom project for their main desktop site however the workstream is continuous with plenty of mobile, tablet and instore projects.

They will need to see clear examples of:

· Multi platform projects including kiosk and instore gesture based work. Instore is not essential but understanding omni-channel strategy would be a huge bonus

· End to end delivery (research, design and testing with various methods, tools and techniques in these respective areas)

· Stakeholder management experience – essential in a global ecommerce brand

· Ecommerce or retail (advantageous)

· Service design or multi-channel experience

This is an amazing opportunity to work on some awesome digital projects that will be setting the bar for all the other digital retailers. Get in touch!

Thanks

Andrew
User Experience Architect - £32-39,000 – London – Renowned university library

One of the foremost social science universities in the world is embarking on a new web strategy and requires a User Experience Architect to help ensure success. The library provides one of the best social science collections in any university – supporting the research and teaching of the university as well as opening its doors to the wider world.

The university’s library is seeking a User Experience Architect who can bring new skills and methodologies to understand their users and design integrated and consistent experiences across their platforms.

The digital library team leads work on the website as well as digitisation and born-digital collections. Over the next 2-3 years they will be planning and executing a number of projects to develop and integrate interfaces, which have grown organically over time. Some of this work will involve mobile – they have recently launched their first mobile application and work is underway on another – so we are looking for someone who can work across both web and mobile platforms.

The UX architect will be a key member of the new web team which oversees their digital presence, helping to introduce new ways of thinking and delivering new approaches to digital services. Responsibility to teach internal teams about UX is welcomed so the practitioner we're looking for must be a facilitator with strong interpersonal skills.

To take on this challenge, we are looking for a UX Architect with experience working on content heavy web platforms with complex taxonomies. This is an opportunity to work end to end through research, design, and validation so experience working through a full User Centred Design lifecycle is also important (though you won't be expected to be an expert in all areas at this level). Finally, the User Experience Architect will work through the full project lifecycle so must have at least a strong understanding of visual design and front end technology.

This is a very exciting time for the university’s library with the development of the digital library to acquire, preserve and provide access to digital collections, together with a building modernisation project to enable the library to grow and flourish. This is an opportunity to be an integral part of an emerging web strategy during an exciting period of change.
