Summary

In March, TMW, in collaboration with other Creston group agencies, delivered a thought leadership presentation to a wide range of the group's clients. 'A strategy for Social Media' communicates the importance of social media and proposes a strategic framework for developing a social media plan.

As Ross Taylor, MD of the agency's digital division, digitaltmw, explains, "The approach is similar to any plan to develop a channel strategy, however there are some vitally important differences which we explore. In social media, you cannot control the message, only stimulate and guide the debate once you have earnt the credibility to join in the debate. We look at the additional areas which must be considered in order to get to an achievable and effective social media plan, including understanding the impact of different brand types, sharing unique Creston research on why consumers are engaging in social media spaces and how this needs to be incorporated into your plans. We also look at the importance of developing a social media proposition to guide investment."
