BIMA thrives on the diversity and experience of its strong membership, and each month through short interviews we're able to find out more about some of the individuals and companies that make up our wonderful community.

This month, we've been speaking to Craig Johnson, of Kagool. Kagool is based in Manchester, London and Cardiff and has been members of BIMA for 3.5 years. Craig and his team are regular contributors to the BIMA Blog, regularly sharing Sitecore tips.

Give us the elevator pitch for your company

Kagool helps enterprise organisations achieve their business goals through beautifully engineered digital projects using the Sitecore platform. We’re an award winning full-service digital marketing agency with offices in Manchester, Cardiff and London. We help clients across the world with digital strategy, web development, user experience, design, search marketing, email marketing and everything in between. We’re a Platinum Sitecore Partner and recognised globally as one of the experts in our field.

Briefly, tell us about a typical day – or – tell us something interesting/unusual/fantastic that happened this week.

I’m lucky to have a varied role so no two days or ever the same. A typical day could include assisting a client with their digital strategy, collaborating with colleagues on an exciting new project, auditing a prospect’s digital marketing activity or planning a new business pitch. When I’m not doing that, there’s Kagool’s own marketing to look after.

I’m spending a lot of my time interviewing. Thanks to a number of new client wins. We’re seeing a lot of growth in different areas of the business and to support this we’re recruiting heavily. Although Kagool has three offices, we all share a ‘one agency’ mentality, so I spend a lot of time in Cardiff and London in addition to running the Manchester operation.

What’s the best thing about being a BIMA member?

The best thing for me is networking. The opportunity to talk through challenges with people from other organisations is great. Also, raising our profile to an audience that can truly benefit from our expertise is a great benefit of BIMA membership.

Tell us about an opportunity you’ve had or a business problem you’ve solved as result of being a BIMA member.

As a Sitecore specialist, Kagool has been recommended to a number of potential clients by connections made through my attendance at BIMA events. In return, I’ve been able to assist other agencies with suggestions on recruitment, business development and innovation. It’s great to pass on suggestions to fellow BIMA members based on experiences from 20 years in the industry.

What difference has BIMA membership made to you/your business?

BIMA membership has helped Kagool reach new audiences and provided a new outlet for our thought leadership content and growing list of case studies. It’s helped me forge new relationships with different people in the industry.
